I have watched the mighty and gentlemanly Orr since 15 yo. Always a guy with class, great talent, and role model for kids.
Thanks for signing an old vintage shirt and "Orr on Ice" book.

Being a All Boston sportsfan, I have had the good fortune to watch the talents of many great athletes.
Bobby Orr is by sure my favorite athlete.
When he started rushing forward with the puck from behind his own net, one of three things would happen.
1) A hooking penalty, Bruins power play .
2) Orr draws 3 defender and assists on a goal.
3) Orr changes gears and splits the defense and scores.

In response to a Letter to the Editor in today's Globe and Mail....

Don Sancton believes that there's "only one player who should be called "No.4'" and "Jean Beliveau is entitled to that honour". (letter, Mar.21)

Bobby Orr's unprecedented record of success culminated in his induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame as the youngest person ever, at age 31 and he is consistently ranked either first or second, alternating with Wayne Gretzky, in any poll of hockey experts on the greatest NHL players of all time.

No one can argue that Mr. Beliveau, "Le Gros Bill", was one of the best players and captains in NHL history. He is also considered one of the classiest and most gracious, as well. One senses that, under the circumstances, he would be honoured to share the title of "No.4", with Mr. Orr.

After all, when asked about the Boston Bruin superstar's impact on the game of professional hockey Mr.Beliveau was reverential in his praise:

"I think the greatest change in hockey, would be the arrival of Bobby."
