I'm only 9. Bobby Orr was the only NHL player to ever come to my town of Harrington Harbour Qc, when my dad was a kid. I like learning about Bobby.

Before there was GPS there was legendary NHL phenom Bobby Orr. We still gaze in wide wonder to this day at old clips of him rushing from end to end ... lugging the puck with precise navigational skills and electrifying stick handling, scoring and assisting goals with marksman accuracy.

An unyielding supernatural force ... like a steel bladed Hermes, Bobby tore up and down the ice like an F5 tornado, weaving between and bypassing opponents at lightning speed -- laying waste to maneuvers designed to stop him. Unfortunately, Bobby's knee injuries may have laid waste to his career, but not to his legendary status. The only introduction Bobby will ever need is simply #4.

Everyone from hockey experts to former coaches, former teammates and opposing team members, from hockey fans to even the casual observer knows what Bobby Orr was and is all about. The astounding, thunderous and lengthy ovation Bobby received at his 1979 Boston Garden retirement ceremony from a standing room only crowd of adoring fans he truly deserved all record-breaking 11 minutes of it! Yes, even during retirement, Bobby Orr set records!

Bobby Orr is also a genuinely charitable, gracious, kind, humble, morally respectable and decent man whose talent is second only to his sportsmanship and class. As he did then, he does now possess traits that are a rarity at best by today's standards. Bobby is a figure that every parent can welcome their children looking up to ... one of the most positive role models ever, in sports or otherwise.

My sports heroes are relatively few, but one man Bobby Orr, will forever top my list o...

I have been a life long Flyers Fan since their inception in 1967. But, my favorite hockey player of all time is Bobby Orr. He was so fluid and smooth on his blades he could have been in the Ice Capades. A hockey player with grace, now there is a note.

I have a program from the 60's that my father got at a game and Bobby's brother Ron was sitting behind my dad and borrowed it to look at - my father knew who he was and asked him to sign it. I met Bobby twice, he is a true hero!!!
